Driving Jenner Road in Nelson, in the Nelson Region of New Zealand's South Island.
The Nelson region covers the northwest corner of New Zealand's South Island. Mountain ranges and Tasman bay surround the region, which gives the area a Mediterranean-like climate.
The region is known for its year-round sunshine, golden beaches, and proximity to national parks, microbreweries, and boutique wineries. Also, there is a large community of working artists. In addition are locally grown produce, freshly caught seafood, waterfront restaurants, and historic streetscapes.
Nelson City got its name from Admiral Lord Nelson, well known for the Battle of Trafalgar. The region has a community that combines a relaxed approach to life with a get-up-and-go attitude. You can organise an adventure or begin an arty shopping spree in Nelson City. Every year the city hosts the New Zealand Wearable Art Awards. Here, art comes off the walls and is displayed by models in many curious ways.
