Driving SH1 from Ashburton to Hinds, in the Canterbury region on the East Coast of New Zealand's South Island.
Ashburton is a large town located a short drive from Christchurch, and is situated in the heart of the Canterbury Plains. The town is the hub of mid Canterbury, combining city facilities and vibrancy with smaller town friendliness.
